father_peter: (Nothing but aching thoughts)
Noah, did you have plans to go out to a cafe with Serenity and...I think it was a Godric tonight? I believe the cafe was called Mariposa? If you do, I need to tell you not to go. You know...please. I have to try to stop something bad from happening there, but in the instance that I don't, it would be best if you weren't anywhere near there.

And I'm sorry for involving you, Daria and Ben. I just thought you wouldn't like to be shut out of something involving Noah.

Yeah, that's Serenity's cafe! And she won't respond here because she's there right now, Peter! Did you call her? Is something bad happening right now? What is it? Fuck!

It's poetry night so we were going to go there. Godric was going to read. Peter, what would have happened?!

Date: 2010-07-02 03:37 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] father-peter.livejournal.com
What I saw didn't happen until dark, though Thomas is calling the cafe now and I'm on my way.

It wasn't Pat, Noah. It's a demon. And most likely, I can stop her.

Date: 2010-07-02 03:37 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] hereprophetslie.livejournal.com
Good. Goodgoodgood.

Peter...what about the people there who aren't your nephew and co. What if you don't stop her?

Date: 2010-07-02 03:38 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] father-peter.livejournal.com
That's what we're headed to the cafe to deal with. I hope whomever is in charge will listen to a somehow believable sounding 'you're not safe here tonight' story.

Date: 2010-07-02 03:40 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] hereprophetslie.livejournal.com
Serenity's the manager. She's in charge. You won't have to make up a story. Will you tell her to call me?

So, this is just a demon? Not...those Templar people?

Date: 2010-07-02 03:41 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] father-peter.livejournal.com
That is rather an incredible relief.

It's not those Templar people. She's a lone agent.

Date: 2010-07-02 03:42 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] hereprophetslie.livejournal.com
Yeah.

How are you going to stop her?! Will she hurt you, Peter? What happens if she hurts you? What did you see in your vision? Did I die?

Date: 2010-07-02 03:44 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] father-peter.livejournal.com
I'll be alright, Noah. This is what I do. And if it goes South, hopefully I can steer her away from other people by presenting a more appealing target. If I do disappear for a few days, try not to worry too much. Someone will have it under control.

The reason I have the visions is so I can stop them. What I saw doesn't necessarily matter as long as you don't set foot in that cafe.

Date: 2010-07-02 03:51 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] hereprophetslie.livejournal.com
Uh...okay? How can you be calm about that!?

And I kind of know that makes the answer a big yes. I won't set foot in that cafe if you get my sister out.

Date: 2010-07-02 03:52 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] father-peter.livejournal.com
I'm really not. I'm really, really not, but if I panic, it means I won't be able to get this done.

We're almost there, Noah. And I promise I will have her call you.

Date: 2010-07-02 04:05 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] hereprophetslie.livejournal.com
I don't actually know if that makes me feel better or worse.

Date: 2010-07-02 04:06 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] father-peter.livejournal.com
Whatever happens, I will get through it. That's what I have to focus on. If it helps, you can focus on that too.

Date: 2010-07-02 04:07 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] hereprophetslie.livejournal.com
I know, I just...I don't want you to be scared. Or hurt. Or whatever. Just be careful.

Date: 2010-07-02 04:07 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] father-peter.livejournal.com
I'll be careful. Words are more powerful than we realise. I believe they are all I will need.

Date: 2010-07-02 08:35 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] createthemess.livejournal.com
I'm gonna come over with the kids.

Date: 2010-07-02 09:07 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] createthemess.livejournal.com
ME? You're the one Peter's having his doom dreams about!

Date: 2010-07-02 09:18 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] hereprophetslie.livejournal.com
But I'm staying put, so I'll be okay. I'm just making sure you're not freaking out.

Date: 2010-07-02 09:40 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] createthemess.livejournal.com
Well Dad is insisting he drive because he thinks I'll drive into the side of a building because maybe i'm freaking a little, i'm really tired.

Date: 2010-07-02 09:41 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] hereprophetslie.livejournal.com
Daria, you don't have to come over. I can come to you.

Date: 2010-07-02 09:09 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] thatoldgeek.livejournal.com
Thank you, Peter, for whatever is it you're doing here to stop this. I'm not really taking it in very well. It's all... rather terrifying.

Date: 2010-07-02 09:23 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] father-peter.livejournal.com
And I'm very sorry to have to terrify you. I do hate to do it. I just didn't think you'd want this happening behind your back.

I've spoken to Serenity now. She won't be anywhere near the cafe either, and she's closing it for the night so people will be safe.

This stuff isn't all I am. It just...sometimes it's bigger than the every day stuff and I worry it's all anyone will see.

Date: 2010-07-02 09:30 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] thatoldgeek.livejournal.com
No, thank you. I'm glad to know, even if I still don't really know what it is that I'm knowing. (If that made sense.)

Good. Good. I don't want either of them in danger, or anyone for that matter.

It's good that there's someone to worry about it.

Date: 2010-07-02 09:38 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] father-peter.livejournal.com
It did, actually. It really did.

My thoughts exactly.

I suppose that's true. Actually, now that I have a few hours to kill and I'm much calmer... I was wondering if I could ask you to translate something for me. As out of place as that seems... It's a manuscript thing in cuneiform, and I can't read it. Much to my annoyance.

Date: 2010-07-02 09:56 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] thatoldgeek.livejournal.com
Oh, cuniform, yes, I can probably have a try at translating it for you. As long is it's post-4th century BCE, as before then the Sumarian language becomes a lot muddier within regions. But afterward the Akkadian and Sumerian are both quite straightforward.

Date: 2010-07-02 10:00 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] father-peter.livejournal.com
Whatever you just said, it was awesome. I'll bring it by and you can tell me if it's...unmuddy!

Aramaic, Hebrew, Latin and Greek, I can do. This, I cannot do. And I want to see if I can include it in my PhD.

Date: 2010-07-02 10:08 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] thatoldgeek.livejournal.com
Alright, sure. Bring it around some evening and I'll take a look.

Date: 2010-07-02 10:11 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] father-peter.livejournal.com
Will do, Ben. Thank you.
