You know what's annoying? Lent. You know what's more annoying? When you forget you don't need to feel guilty for eating or participating in certain activities. The guilt, it's enough to drive one mad.

Though I think I'm half there anyway.

Caleb's doing well. I think he's starting to realise things aren't really going to be the same, but he seems alright with it so far. He really is an extraordinary young man.

And Deirdre? You were absolutely fantastic in Chicago. I was enthralled the entire time and I couldn't be prouder. I sat there beaming like a complete buffoon, but you were brilliant. And I'm so glad I got to see it. Thoams too, he won't shut up. Not that I'd ever want him too.

I find the knowledge that it's Lent actually adds an extra thrill to performing those activities, when I'm so disposed to think about it. But I do so like to be naughty. And mock the Church.

I'm glad Caleb is coping well so far. Though really, with a family like ours, I don't think things could be any other way.

Oh, Deirdre was amazing, wasn't she? And backstage was a blast! Though I certainly wasn't lapping up the attention of the chorus girls. No, not at all.

No that's...Lent. It's a Catholic thing. You're supposed to give up things and fast because Jesus spent 40 days in the desert and...I'm used to having to be an example so this time of year every time I see I biscuit I am overcome with guilt if I even think about eating it.

Religion is weird.
